Coastline Digital Design
Small Business Web Designer in Brighton
Affordable, hand-coded websites for Brighton businesses. £0 down, £49/month, properly local.
Brighton is six miles east of our Shoreham Beach office. Fifteen minutes along the A259 or twenty on the train. Between the Lanes, North Laine, the seafront and Kemptown, Brighton has one of the densest small-business scenes in the south of England: independent retailers, café and bar operators in BN1 and BN2, creatives and consultants working out of co-working spaces, and a long tail of trades servicing the city's flats and Victorian terraces. We work with small businesses here who want a website that actually shows up on a Brighton local search, not one buried under a London agency's off-the-shelf template.
Three Brighton examples
What we'd build for Brighton businesses
Every project starts with the same question: what's the right website for THIS business, in THIS town? Here are three concrete examples from Brighton.
For a Brighton independent retailer
A site that works for both Lanes foot-traffic searches ('bookshop The Lanes') and the broader 'where to buy X in Brighton' market. Fast loading, mobile-first, clean photography. Schema markup with your BN1 address so you appear in Google's local pack.
For a Brighton creative or consultant
Portfolio-first and distinctly designed (Brighton clients want bespoke, not off-the-shelf). Proper case-study pages, strong typography, and SEO targeting both 'Brighton brand designer' and the niche terms in your field. Designed to convert the inbound enquiries you actually want, not all of them.
For a Brighton pub or cocktail bar
Events-first homepage, mobile-optimised because nobody plans a Friday night on a laptop. Schema markup with opening hours and event listings, photography that shows actual atmosphere, and SEO for both 'pub Brighton seafront' and the specific 'cocktail bar Kemptown' style searches.

Questions from Brighton businesses
-
Yes. Brighton is six miles from our Shoreham Beach office, fifteen minutes by car. We're happy to meet in a Lanes café, at a North Laine studio, or at your premises. If you'd prefer to meet at the seafront or in Hove, that's easy too. We're often in town anyway.
-
Two reasons. First, price. A London agency will quote you four or five times what we charge for a small business site, because their overheads are London-level. Second, local SEO. Google rewards businesses local to the searcher's location. When someone in Brighton searches "web designer near me", a Sussex business ranks better than a London one. And we know what Brighton small-business customers are actually searching for.
-
We cover most of Sussex, but our nearest pages for towns near Brighton are: Hove, Shoreham-by-Sea, and Lewes. Same approach, same pricing. If your town isn't on the list yet, just get in touch and we'll build you a site anyway.
-
We have two monthly options. Foundation is £49/month and gives you a professional one-page website with multiple sections, unlimited edits, professional hosting and a complete redesign every three years. Pro is £149/month and gives you up to five pages, advanced SEO, Google Business Profile setup and monthly strategy recommendations. Both are also available as one-off payments (£1,490 and £2,990 respectively) if you'd prefer to own the site outright.
-
Yes. Every site we build comes with proper on-page SEO baked in: optimised meta tags, structured data, fast loading times (we guarantee a green PageSpeed score), and mobile-friendly layout. Local SEO for your town is included as standard, so people searching for your service in your area can actually find you.
-
Most Foundation sites are live within two to three weeks from kick-off. Pro sites with more pages typically take three to four weeks. We don't pad timelines. Once we have your content and brand assets, we get on with the build.
-
Edits are included in both monthly plans, with no extra fees. Want to add a new service, swap a photo or update your prices? Just send us an email and we'll handle it: usually within a day or two on Foundation, same-day on Pro.

We focus on what we're good at: small business websites and local SEO. We don't do social media management, branding from scratch or paid advertising campaigns. If you need those, we can recommend people we trust. We do, however, set up your Google Business Profile and basic Google Analytics so you can see what's working.
